Chase Chiefs Seat Sales:

Dear Citizens of Chase;

 In soliciting fan feedback after the inaugural season of the Chase Chiefs Hockey franchise, one of the concerns brought forward was regarding the seating in the Art Holding Arena (comfort, crowding, seating availability during games and in some cases, cleanliness).

We conducted enquiries with fans of the Chiefs (mainly the Seasons Ticket holders) to determine their interest in “purchasing their own seat”, a moulded chair mounted to the existing bleachers. Unfortunately, neither the Chiefs Hockey Club nor the Chase & District Rec. Centre Society is in a position to fund this project and thus, the costs would have to be borne by “donation”.  The seats would be a “one time purchase” for the buyer,  not an “annual due”.  As a part of the purchase of a seat, the “purchaser” would (if desired and for a small additional fee) have an engraved name plate attached which would remain there forever.  We found that the general consensus was that fans were more than willing to “purchase their own seat” to add to their enjoyment of the games.

Interestingly enough, we had numerous people indicate a willingness to purchase seats even though, for a number of reasons, (ie; their involvement with the hockey club), they will probably never utilize them personally.  Others indicated they would be interested in purchasing seats “in memoriam” of loved ones.  Businesses and service clubs in the community have indicated they would be willing to purchase “blocks” of seats to contribute to the project.

As a result of this feedback, we went to work to see if we could find a "seating system" which would;
- provide a greater level of comfort than is given now,
- not cut down greatly on the seating capacity of the bleacher area,
- be obtained at a reasonable cost.

We have found a seat which meets all our "requirements" and we are now coming back to the public for their support in this endeavour by holding a “seat sale”.   The cost of the seats are $50 each.  As noted, each seat will be numbered and, (for an additional $5) will have an engraved name plate attached, (it should be noted that as the Rec. Centre Society is a registered charity, receipts for tax deductions will be available on request).

Please note the Chiefs are spearheading this project on behalf of the Chase Rec. Centre Society.  The Chiefs acknowledge that there is a benefit for the team in this endeavour in that we will be able to sell tickets for actual numbered seats.  Thishowever,is a small benefit compared to how this will greatly enhance the facility, not just for the enjoyment of the Chiefs fans but for minor hockey and figure skating user groups as well.  It will also make the building more “user friendly” (cleaner and more appealing) for hosting other community events such as graduation exercises.

We therefore are soliciting the support of this project by everyone in the community in any way that they can.

Attached is an order form, you can complete it and forward it with your payment to the Chiefs office (please make cheques payable to the Chase & Dist. Recreation Centre Society).  We invite any comments and/or inquiries that you may have about this project; feel free to call the Chiefs office at 679-1136, if no one is in the office, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
